The Night Breeze

The night breeze takes me away , under the milky moonlight, it all fades away around me, around us….

A faint stream nearby, gentle lapping waters, the brush of nearby trees as they sway with the breeze

The feel of the grass beneath me and then that beautiful fragrance… of her

My arms around her pulling her close, her arms around me and I find myself there on her lips.

So soft and so sweet, there I was lost but as I looked onward… in to those sparkling eyes,

Those endless blue eyes, I fell so far onwards, the earth fell away…

And there was nothing around us - just the stars above and the night breeze.

I held her head gently in my hands as I moved my lips across her cheek and upwards,

There she was, nothing in the world could harm her – not while I was there

Then my arms encircled her pulling her close, my kisses to her neck now… stroking

And the winds continued to circle us taking the worlds away.

Summer perfumes and the smells of the sun baked earth…

Her heartbeat next to me, her heart and her soul an inch away from mine

Still what I remember most is her warmth and her touch -soft, smooth….

I returned it with mine, my fingers in her brown hair, just right....

Soon there was nothing… except us.

And the night breeze.
