The knife flew swiftly through the air,
Its razor death screaming towards its foe,
The evil was defeated fair and square,
Not ever again would Wonderland sink so low.
The air shimmered and seemed to fade,
And the numerous vibrant colours all flooded in,
This game was over and had been played,
And it was all washed away, the evil and the sin.
Within an instant they were there standing before her,
Her mother and father surrounded by a blinding light,
And then tears came to her eyes when she heard the familiar purr,
Of dear Dinah, how could she have ever let her out of her sight?
Their smiles, their looks, she understood it all and it made her cry,
But it was time to let the past go and to move onwards with a smile,
She hugged and kissed them, and with courage told them goodbye,
But for now in Wonderland she would stay, at least for a while,
She felt no anger and she felt none of the demonic rage,
It was as if she had woken up from the most hideous of dreams,
If this was a book, she vowed never to look at the page,
And she would move on anew, leaving behind all the horror and the screams.
Her time in Wonderland was brisk but she cherished every minute,
Her friends were alive and back to what they had once been,
And as always the land was crazy, without a single limit,
It brought a smile to Alice's face, after all she had seen,
Soon it was time to rejoin the world with enthusiasm and hope,
And Alice woke from her adventure with a sparkling radiant smile.
The doctors and nurses had no idea, how in the world she would cope,
But it was time for this young lady to walk her very own green mile.
Out she strode through the asylum's gates that beautiful day,
The sun shining on her emerald eyes making them sparkle like never before,
With her diary in her hand and Kitty at her side, who knew what before them lay,
But this angel was reborn and would into the eternal skies soar.
May you always be happy Alice, whatever happens in your life,
The time is now gone, all the pain and all the strife,
I will miss all the hours that we together did spend,
I bid you goodbye forever my darling friend.
